David Hartt – Some Recent Work

11/25/16 / 18h

On the occasion of the last weekend of our show
A Thousand and X Little Actions we invited artist David Hartt as special guest to Munich.

As a last highlight of our current exhibition, we are happy to welcome David Hartt at the Lothringer13 Halle. David will give us some details on the exhibited piece Stray Light*, and present various exerpts from his recent works.
David Hartt creates work that unpacks the social, cultural, and economic complexities of his various subjects. He explores how historic ideas and ideals persist or transform over time.
The curator-team Lene Harbo Pedersen and Jörg Koopmann will ask David about his choice of topics, the increasing length of his films or the wonderful score he gets in collaborations with Nicole Mitchell and Sam Prekop and others.
Use the chance to meet this delightful artist on his first visit to Munich.

Born in Montréal in 1967, Hartt lives and works in Philadelphia as Assistant Professor, on Fine Arts at the University of Pennsylvania. His exhibition *Stray Light originating with the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. Recently David has had solo exhibitions in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Vancouver. His work is in several public collections including The Museum of Modern Art, New York, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, The Studio Museum in Harlem, New York, The Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, The Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago and The Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
